Fire Department

Welcome to the Alamosa Fire Department!

Alamosa Fire-Rescue emblem with Colorado flag, hydrant, ladder, and fire-rescue text.

The Alamosa Fire Department has a rich and proud history of providing fire services starting in 1879. Currently the Alamosa Fire Department is an all volunteer, paid per call department responding out of two fire stations. Our fleet of fire apparatus consists of 3 Engines, 1 Tower, 2 Pumper/Tenders, 1 Tender, 4 Brush trucks, and 1 Rescue.

Fire protection services are provided to the City of Alamosa, the Southern portion of the Alamosa County Fire Protection District, and with our neighboring departments in the San Luis Valley. To fulfill our mission we provide services ranging from fire suppression, basic technical rescue, fire inspections, public fire education, and public relations outreach to the Alamosa community.

These services are provided by a team of dedicated men and women that make up the Alamosa Fire Department. With a strong focus on training and commitment to service we stand ready to respond to our citizens, visitors, and neighbors in their time of need.

If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to be a part of our team please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Frank Wirth
Fire Chief
