Officer Mollee Heeney Receives Recognition from Colorado Chief’s Association
Alamosa, CO - The Colorado Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) recognized Alamosa Police Officer Mollee Heeney with their Valor award during their annual conference in Estes Park.
On June 9, 2026 Officer Mollee Heeney was formally commended by Chief Adam Turk of the Greeley Police Department, President of the CACP, for her heroic intervention during a critical incident in December. Officer Heeney demonstrated exceptional courage and decisiveness when responding to a domestic violence call involving a suspect who assaulted officers with a knife. After non-lethal measures proved ineffective, Officer Heeney discharged her service weapon to neutralize the threat, an action that directly preserved the life of a fellow officer and concluded the violent encounter in a nonlethal manner.
In the course of the presentation with the Valor Award, Chief Turk observed that Officer Heeney's recovery and return to service following her own line-of-duty injuries several years prior serve as a profound testament to her professional commitment and exemplary courage.
