4/28/26 - Access Control Plan (ACP) Update: One-on-One Meetings Available

Alamosa, CO - The City of Alamosa, Alamosa County, and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) have jointly decided to postpone moving forward on the Access Control Plan (ACP). This pause is intended to allow more time for individual one-on-one meetings with property owners and stakeholders who may be potentially affected by the plan.

The ACP is a long-range planning document designed to establish a framework for managing highway access over time to preserve safety and mobility. Please note that the plan does not trigger immediate construction or close existing driveways.

Property owners or interested community members for locations within city limits are invited to schedule a 30-minute meeting with the project team to discuss their concerns. There are available meeting times in May, June, July, and August.

A Public Open House will also be held on Thursday, July 23rd, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. This open house will provide another opportunity for the community to review the plan and provide feedback.

To schedule your meeting, please contact the City of Alamosa Development Services Department at planning@alamosa.gov or (719) 589-6631.

Property owners outside city limits may also contact Alamosa County Land Use Administrator Richard Hubler at rhubler@alamosacounty.org or (719) 589-3812 for questions.
