Bomb Threat and Active Shooter Threat to Alamosa High School

Alamosa, CO –   On January 14, 2026, at approximately 7:50 AM, the Alamosa Police Department was contacted by staff from Alamosa High School regarding a message they had received. The caller alleged they had planted explosive devices within the school and intended to "shoot it up." School staff promptly initiated a secure status protocol and made the decision to evacuate the premises.

Multiple agencies responded to assist the Alamosa Police Department in the effort to secure and clear the school premises for any suspicious items or active threats. Law enforcement subsequently conducted a sweep of the school and concluded that no active threats or suspicious devices were present. The Alamosa Police Department, in coordination with the Colorado Springs FBI Office and the Colorado Information Analysis Center (CIAC), determined that the threat directed at Alamosa High School was part of a broader, automated call campaign targeting numerous schools across the State of Colorado.

The Alamosa Police Department was assisted by the Colorado State Patrol, Colorado Department of Corrections Parole, Adams State Police Department, Alamosa Fire Department, Alamosa EMS and the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office.
